Effective 19 September 2026 · Applies to the Vidnip website (vidnip.com, vidnip.cn), Vidnip for Mac and Vidnip for iPhone. Operator: MY ARCS CO., LTD. (Japan). The mainland China site vidnip.cn is operated by 大连汉瑞源峰科技有限公司. Contact: vidnip@arcs-ai.com
Our web servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested page, time) for security and troubleshooting only. They are not used to build profiles and are deleted on a rolling basis.
The site stores two small values in your browser's local storage: your language choice (vidnip-lang) and, if you arrived through an invitation link, the invitation code (vidnip-ref, kept only until you click a purchase button or close the tab). They never leave your browser except that the invitation code is attached to a purchase so the referrer can be credited. We set no cookies of our own.
Payments outside mainland China are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card or wallet details; we never see card numbers. From Stripe we receive your email address, country, the amount and the payment status, and we use them to issue and email your license key.
Payments on vidnip.cn are processed by WeChat Pay (Tenpay). We receive the order number, amount and transaction id, plus the email address you type in so we can deliver the key.
For each license we store: the purchase email, the license key, the purchase date, the payment reference and up to three activation records. These are kept for as long as the license is valid so we can help you recover a lost key or move it to a new Mac.
Download queue and history, settings, subscriptions, the cookies and sessions of websites you sign in to inside the built-in preview window (including a YouTube sign-in, if you use it) and your downloaded files are stored locally and are never transmitted to us.
| Connection | When | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| The websites you download from | When you paste a link | Ordinary web requests, as a browser would; those sites see your IP address and are governed by their own policies. |
| vidnip.com (update check) | About once a day, if automatic updates are on | A request for the update feed. The user agent contains the app version and macOS version. No system profile is sent. |
| api.vidnip.com (activation) | When you activate or deactivate a license | Your license key and a salted SHA-256 hash of the Mac's hardware identifier. The raw identifier never leaves the Mac. The hash is deleted when you deactivate. |
| github.com (download engine update) | About once a week | A request for the latest engine release. Nothing about you is included. |
| Stripe / WeChat Pay | Only when you click Buy | Opens the payment page in your browser. |
If you turn on "Allow iPhone connections", the Mac advertises itself on your local network (name, protocol version and host name only) and accepts encrypted connections from iPhones you have paired with a six-digit code. Pairing credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain. Nothing about this feature is reported to us. It is off by default.
We share data only with the processors named above (Stripe, WeChat Pay, our email delivery service and our hosting providers), and only as needed to deliver what you bought. We do not sell or rent personal data. License data is processed in Japan; mainland China payment data is processed in China.
Server logs are deleted on a rolling basis. License records are kept while the license is valid; on request we delete them, which also voids the license.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or to deactivate a Mac you no longer have, by emailing vidnip@arcs-ai.com from the purchase address. We reply within 30 days. Vidnip is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new effective date.
